Hundreds of adults, children, and officials are set to march and rally at the Illinois Capitol next month.
The Million Unmasked March is in response to the return to school guidelines from the Illinois State Board of Education.
WICS-TV reports organizers say their main objection is to requiring students to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), specifically masks, in order to attend school.
They are also objecting to the future requirements of COVID-19 vaccination requirements for attendance.
According to one of the group’s founders, Dawn Gregory, the Million Unmasked March has gained more than 6,200 members in a little less than two weeks.
Guest speakers include:
- Grundy County States Attorney Jason Helland
- Illinois State Representative Darren Bailey
- Constitutional Lawyer Thomas Devore
- Teacher Tonya Sneed
- Parkview Christian Academy Board President Jed Davis
- Event organizers Dawn Gregory, Kayla Brooks Null and Michael Rebresh
Organizers say adult members and their children plan on attending the march.
“Our members consist of Moms, Dads, Grandparents and Kids from across the great State of Illinois and will be marching in solidarity, as whole families and friends of this movement to protest the Non Scientific Guidelines and the questionable recommendations from the IDPH.”
The march is set for July 25 at 10 a.m.
