The NYPD’s 72nd Precinct (in Brooklyn) turned into a flood zone, thanks to a key-slinging cop who accidentally triggered the sprinkler system with a bad throw. Video of the deluge shows a sprinkler on full blast inside the stationhouse and water pooling on the floor.
The snafu was caused by a set of keys that went astray when tossed. An NYPD spokesman said, “This is a complete accident. A member of the service tossed keys to another member when it accidentally struck a sprinkler head, causing the single sprinkler to go off.” The sprinkler was quickly shut off and the mishap caused only “minimal damage to the desk area.”
However, sources say the unexpected deluge may have also trashed equipment and records.
And the officers are swimming in paperwork.http://
